Williamson County students are served by the Williamson County area school district and the Franklin Special School District, who work hard to achieve their goal of ensuring that each child receives the best possible education available. Williamson County Schools provide education for over 32,000 students at 41 unique school sites, including nine high schools, eight middle schools, 23 elementary schools, and one K- 8 school. There are 3,850 students enrolled in the Franklin Special School District’s seven schools—four elementary schools, one intermediate school, one middle school, and a K-8 school. Additionally, there are 50 private schools in the immediate area, with numerous other quality public and private schools in our surrounding counties, making our area wealthy with educational options for your family’s student. Nicknamed “The Athens of the South”, the Nashville Metro region also offers area students a wide array of post-secondary education options, including 21 accredited four-year and postgraduate institutions, six community colleges and 11 vocational and technical schools.
